Do I smoke cause I wanna die?

First of all, only few people (or almost nobody) smoke because they want to kill themselves, hurt themselves, or get cancer. Most of our "bad habits" are not driven by the desire to hurt themselves, get cancer, or be fat. There is often a good intention behind this "unwanted" behavior.

There is a "theory of parts", which claims that our personality is complex and consists of many different parts. Let's not confuse this with multiple personalities, that's definitely not the case.

You can imagine it like different departments in a corporation. You have a finance department, whose goal is to manage money well, save as much as possible... Then you have, for example, a technical department, which tries to make sure that you have as many innovations as possible and that things run quickly, smoothly, and work. Everyone knows that nothing is free, and so programmers/technicians need to innovate technologies and hardware, which is met with misunderstanding from the finance department, because it necessarily means higher costs. And even if neither of these departments wants the company to do badly and both strive for a positive result, conflict arises.

To get to the point, the theory of parts says that behind every "negative" behavior there is a positive intention. Take smoking, for example. Many people smoke because it is a way of relaxing. They sit in the office, overwhelmed with work and a cigarette is their escape and where they can get up and leave the work carousel for a while and not solve problems for at least a few minutes.

Some have a cigarette at work as a form of socialization and solving non-work issues with colleagues, so you could say that they use it to build social bonds.

Similarly, when we have anxiety or a phobia, a part of us often tries to protect us from danger. Our part has learned from past experience that a certain stimulus is dangerous for us and in a good believe sometimes exaggerates it to the absolute. The feeling of safety is a positive intention, but the way of realization is a bit unfortunate.

With the help of hypnosis, we can communicate on a subconscious level with this part of us and push it to find other ways to satisfy this need, this "positive intention".

Because our subconscious is very resourceful, it can usually provide us with several alternatives at once.

Many may find this funny, but for me, for example, when my colleagues went out to smoke and chat and socialize, I went out with them. I had a pack of apples at work and when they smoked, I ate an apple. My need for socialization was satisfied even without a cigarette. This is a bit of a far-fetched example, but I wanted to demonstrate the principle.

We are all different, so our solutions will certainly be different. It is important that this happens at the level of our subconscious, we cannot rationally manage it 24/7, which is why it is so difficult for many to quit smoking or get rid of other bad habits.

Let's find non-destructive satisfaction of your needs together using hypnosis.
